Last Thursday, someone called 9-1-1 saying Richard Adolphson had crashed on Southwest Boeckman Road and SW Laurel Glen Street and was slumped over in his car, unresponsive. An officer grabbed a portable defibrillator machine from the station and soon got to the scene with another deputy. Clackamas County dashcam video then shows two deputies pulling Adolphson’s body from the car. Deputy John Wildhaber began chest compressions while Deputy Josh Eagle got the defibrillator going. They repeated the process. The only time they had used a defibrillator was in training in early April. Minutes later, paramedics swarmed the scene, taking Adolphson to the hospital. “These things are great, they pretty much hold your hand through the whole process. They tell you what to do and what not to do,” said Deputy Eagle. Adolphson has been in the hospital since April 26th, but Meridian Park Hospital said he could be released as soon as Wednesday.
